INTERVIEWS:

“I have had the pleasure of working with Brooklyn Summer for over a year now. Brooklyn is a true talent, both as an artist and songwriter. She is mature and professional beyond her years but most importantly, she is genuine and real. It's a joy to help guide Brooklyn as she finds her authentic sound in the studio and also to help her in making great records! I thoroughly enjoyed working with her on 'Cowboy Killer' and watching it come to life. Brooklyn Summer is a superstar in the making and I am excited to play a part in her journey to stardom!” -  John D. Willis, Multi-Award-Winning Session Musician & Record Producer

“There’s a certain magic that hangs around after some co-writes. You feel it when you’re driving home listening to the work tape, and you know for sure you got something special during that session. That feeling has stuck with me since the day Brooklyn, Bill, and I wrote 'Cowboy Killer!' I’m beyond proud of Brooklyn and her fearlessness when it comes to saying exactly what it is she wants to say, and that’s the same energy we captured in this song.“ - Ericca Latza, Singer/Songwriter & Co-Writer

"I always love the twist on a common saying. When Ericca mentioned 'Cowboy Killer,' I thought if we twisted it just right it would be deadly cool!” - Bill DiLuigi, Multi-Award- Winning Songwriter/Artist Musician & Co-Writer

(Nashville, TN. – June 4, 2024) – Fourteen-year-old singer/songwriter Brooklyn Summer is excited about the release of her spirited new single, “Cowboy Killer.” The rockin' song boasts a more mature sound for the teen phenomenon. It is playful and light-hearted yet powerful. Reminiscent of the popular '90s sound with a heavy dose of modern edge flair, "Cowboy Killer" is already creating a buzz among industry professionals and music fans alike. The song, which is already nearing 8k streams, was featured twice on Radio SoBro's NuMu Friday upon release, it was one of  Pop Blitz Magazine's New Music Friday picks, and was added to Center Stage Magazine'sFresh Indie Country playlist. "Cowboy Killer" is now available on all digital and streaming platforms. Listen HERE.

Cleverly crafted with Nashville tunesmiths Bill DiLuigi and Ericca Latza, "Cowboy Killer" was produced by multi-award-winning session musician and record producer, John D. Willis (Alabama, Blake Shelton, Faith Hill, Florida Georgia Line, Gretchen Wilson, Kenny Chesney, Jewel, Luke Bryan, Shania Twain, Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson) for Mount Wills Productions. "Cowboy Killer" is one of those "feel good" songs that will have you crankin' up the volume and singin' and dancing along in no time. In the song, Summer gets her country on and sets her aim high on a certain cowboy she has her eyes on. With its infectious groove and smokin' guitars, the stellar production allows Summers' rich, soaring vocals and signature note-bending to shine through. If you listen carefully, you can hear the young talent's musical influences - from the earlier sounds of Tanya Tucker, Gretchen Wilson, Martina McBride, and Miranda Lambert to Carrie Underwood and Lainey Wilson. The animated background vocals and harmonies, compliments of Errica Latza, are the icing on the cake!

"'Cowboy Killer' was born in just an hour and a half - a testament to our creative synergy," reflects Summer. "Ericca sparked the initial idea, which resonated with all of us. This song holds a special place in my heart as it allowed me to explore a more mature writing style. I am incredibly grateful for the collaborative spirit of Ericca and Bill, who always empower me to express myself freely. Our sessions are incredibly productive, often resulting in two new songs within a mere three hours. Working with them is truly an inspiring experience!"

"It’s raining on the pavement on a corner in Cheyenne

There’s a lonely desperado with a lighter in his hand

They say them Marlboro Reds are gonna take him to his grave

But Cowboy Killer is my name

Yeah, that boy's a goner but he just don’t know it yet

There’s a smoke ring halo hanging low over his head

But I’m the burning kinda hit, that’s gonna take his breath away

Cause Cowboy Killer is my name

Oh...

He’s a tumbleweed that’s born to roll

A wild Mustang taillights on the road

I’m a pretty pistol been working on her aim

Cause Cowboy Killer is my name

If I end up on a poster with a bounty on my head

Let 'em lock me up cause I dressed to knock him dead

That lipstick in my holster, well that's the one smoking gun to blame

Cause Cowboy Killer is my name

Chorus

It’s raining on the pavement on a corner in Cheyenne

I'm spinning my wheels, hot on the heels of a real wanted man"

Brooklyn Summer is the type of artist that after a show the audience always leaves wanting to listen to one more song, i have been in a few of her shows and people including me in the audience always screams "one more song" her voice, her talent, her personality and the way she greets her fans is just what we wish every artist has.
